Pyro-centric performers IgNight Flowhave been teaching and entertaining fire enthusiasts as part of their annual conference at the Joshua Tree Retreat center and will be having demonstrations showcasing their flame antics during the day and then a performance culminating in the night’s main event—La Quema del Diablo—the burning of the devil.
Filmmaker and artist Kidnap Kate (Kate McCabe) of the high desert art collective Kidnap Yourself plays her desert sessions, sounds pulled from years of rock-n-roll dance parties she produced at Philly’s Silk City and The Kyber Pass, her beloved show "Mojave Kitchen Dance Diaries" on Radio Free Joshua Tree, her recent guest DJing at Shake Appeal. Her collection includes soul, glam, punk and freestyle mixed with modern tail shakers and desert lovers with a little star fueled make out music on top.
After a year-long journey across North America, the Dream Wanderer virtual reality gallery has found a new stationary home in the high desert just outside Joshua Tree.
